Crescent Beach was awarded the world's "finest and whitest sand" award in 1987. The water here is shallow enough for beginners and deep enough for experienced snorkelers. There are a lot of rocks and an abundance of sea life here. Go early in the day for the calm waters and low tide and clear visibility. Rock walking will be easier. Sheltered picnic areas, lifeguards, concession stands, restrooms, volleyball courts, tennis courts, a softball field and a fitness trail all provide for the ultimate in vacationing. At the southernmost tip of Siesta Key is Turtle Beach. This beach is not nearly as crowded as Siesta Key Beach and is a great place for shelling just beneath the sand. Sharks teeth are in abundance here as well. Turtle Beach offers a volleyball court, playground and picnic area and even a horshoe pit. This a great place for family outings. South of Turtle Beach is Palmer Point Beach, filled with sea oats and a great place to reflect on life. You can actually walk from Palmer Point Beach to Casey Key. Siesta Key offers sailboarding, fishing, snorkeling and yes, even parasailing! Whatever your pleasure, whether it be a romantic getaway, or just some fun in the sun, you are sure to find it here.
